Amanda Berry

Amanda Berry moved to New York from San Antonio, Texas in 2004 to attend New York University, where she earned a BFA in Theatre. Since then, she has played various characters in plays and musicals, from Buster Keaton to Lysistrata. Amanda was part of the original cast of Stripper Lesbians, and was recently seen in RSP’s 2012 Hotel Suite in Tracy Lett’s Bug and Room 128 One Act Series.

Jak Prince

Jak Prince made his stage debut at age 6 playing the elephant king in the first grade play. Since then he has been involved with theater either as an actor, director, designer and educator. Prior credits include ”Hotel Suite” (Rising Sun Performance Co-Designer and Technical Director) ”Space Captain-Captain of Space” (No Tea Productions-Design Team) “The Kentucky Goblin Siege” (No Tea Productions – scenic design) “The Last Supper” Scenic design- Rising Sun Performance Co,) “Uncle Nicky” (Lighting design – Theatre on Five), Vital Signs 8 (Lighting – Vital Theatre Co.), Animals R’ Us (Lighting design – P.A.C.T.) Richard III (Lighting design – Frog & Peach Theatre Co.), “As You Like It” Much Ado About Nothing” (Scenic & Lighting design, Frog & Peach Theatre Co.), N.Y. Innovative Theatre Awards , (Production Stage Manager) “I Married Wyatt Earp” (Prospect Theatre Co-Technical Director) In addition, he is also a certified teacher of theatre and has served high schools in New Jersey as a director and designer. His students have named him the Who’s Who among America’s Teacher’s three times. His daughter, Danielle, is an animal trainer in Austin, Texas.

Joe Beaudin
(Performer)
Joe Beaudin has been a member of Rising Sun since 2010 and was most recently a part of their productions of GOODNIGHT LOVIN' TRAIL & Stripper Lesbians for the 2011 & 2012 Frigid Festivals. This past summer he portrayed the part of Zach in Rising Sun's critically acclaimed THE LAST SUPPER at the Red Room. Joe has been an actor and director in NYC for the past 11 years and has worked in some great spaces (and not so great spaces). His favorite off-off broadway roles include: Sir Andrew in TWELFTH NIGHT, Young Pappy in THE TINKLEPACK PATROL and his 5 year stint with the sketch comedy group Mini Red Satan. Regional Theater: Arnold in THE BOYS NEXT DOOR (Connecticut Repertory), Bill Clinton in STARR'S LAST TAPE (Berkshire Theatre Festival), and Pompey in MEASURE FOR MEASURE (O'Connel Theatre in Illinois). Joe holds a BFA in acting from the University of Connecticut, and spent a year studying Meisner technique with Kathryn Gately.

Kate Foster

Kate Foster is a NYC-based playwright, actor and singer (BU CFA '10). Kate's plays have been produced by FRIGID Festival NYC 2011 & 2012 and Manhattan Actors Company/Origins Theatre, and developed by ArtEffects Theatre Company, Poetic Theater Productions @ the Wild Project and Rising Sun NYC, as the 2011-2013 Resident Playwright. NYC performance credits include: Hermia (Hudson Warehouse), Writer (TriBeca Performing Arts Center) and Herself/Scrubbing Fairy (ArtEffects). Upcoming shows: premiere of two one acts @ the Player's Loft (Mermaids/Novel Love, May 16-June 1), soloist @ Stonewall Chorale: Songs of Love and Passion w/Debra Monk (June 9) and the premiere of a one act in Rising Sun's One Act Festival in July. Thanks to Rising Sun, for a truly generous collaboration. Kate was the Resident Playwright of Rising Sun from 2010-2012.

Meg Dowling
(Assistant Director)
Meg Dowling is a recent graduate of East Stroudsburg University and moved to NYC from Philadelphia in January. Most recently she directed a short play in the Looking Glass Theatre's Writer/director Forum, stage managed and assistant directed Looking Glass’ production of The Angel Play and was the ASM for High Stakes Theater’s production of Black Milk. Previously, she was a summer 2011 intern for New York Classical Theatre’s productions of School for Husbands and Henry V, which included a ferry ride for 500 people. In 2009 she interned at People’s Light in Malvern, PA on their production of End Days. College credits include: ASM for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and acting in productions including the one-act, Beauty, and the Shakespearean comedy, As You Like It.

Samantha Cooper

Samantha Cooper recently made her Off-Broadway debut doing My Angry Vagina in The Vagina Monologues at the Snapple/Jerry Orbach Theatre. Other New York credits include Viola (Twelfth Night) and Beatrice (Much Ado…) with Communicable Arts, Julie/Clotho (Ravel) at the Looking Glass, Jess (One Night) on tour with Equalogy, Inc., Hermia (Midsummer…) with Hudson Shakespeare, and Lisa (The Killing of Jacob Marr) with 221 Films. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Theatre from UC San Diego, and has trained at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, A.C.T., Circle In The Square and Karen Kohlhaas. She is proud to call RSP her theatrical home. Samantha was part of the original cast of Stripper Lesbians at the 2012 FRIGID Festival and was also recently seen in RSP’s Hotel Suite. She loves Shakespeare, movement, ensemble work, the ocean, and her mama.
