Anita's comedy fest takes place in a cellar-like space below St. Marks Place and, much like smoking a joint, it induces a silly amount of mirth.

Burlesque star, Anita Cookie, loves to drink almost as much as she loves to play games!  COME ON DOWN to Anita's Underground Game Show, where anyone can be a winner… even YOU!

Anita's Underground Game Show… It's The Price Is Right with boobs and booze, an interactive game show where contestants, each randomly selected from the audience, play pricing games to win baked goods, free booze, and so much more!  But it's not just fun and games!  Hosted, in pasties, by Anita Cookie, Anita's Underground Game Show is packed with live music, jokes, hidden talents, and BOOBS!

Every month, the dazzlingly drunk is joined by that ever so tightly-wound announcer guy, Scott Rayow, as well as her rockin' live band, "The Kindergarteners".  Also, Miss Cookie is visited each month by a different celebrity Drinking Buddy, who performs their secret special skill!  This month's Drinking Buddy is the Delinquent Darling of Burlesque, Peekaboo Pointe of the World Famous Pontani Sisters.  You'll have to COME ON DOWN to see what else this well-known NYC burlesquer can do.

From the theme song to the cookies and right on down to the clevage, Anita's Underground Game Show is a guaranteed good time!  Chock full of fun, drinking, and games, games, games!

“Anita Cookie was hands-down the most humorous act of the evening. Her tequila tinged Betty Boop was hilarious …”
-Daniel Harvey www.ortgeist.com

“I don’t remember the names of all the performers that night, but I do remember Anita Cookie. The bubbly drunk whose pearly white smile and affinity for martini’s and bath time friend Rubber Ducky was a crowd favorite.”
-Jeffrey Swart www.newyorkcool.com

“My absolute favorite strip artist is the cute-as-can-be Anita Cookie. Her music didn't burn to the disk she gave the sound guy so she improvised a tease to Barry Manilow doing the theme song to Buck Rogers. (I never realized that Barry Manilow had done anything sci-fi.) She pulled this strip off…well…much like her clothes—with erotic grace and skill. And she was hilarious on top of that playing a Star Trek Officer that's a little drunk on an away mission.”
-Richard Hinojosa www.nytheatre.com

Anita Cookie is dedicated to bringing quality burlesque to the masses, and she hopes to do this by always finding new and exciting ways to showcase jokes as well as jiggling bosoms.  Along with Anita’s Underground, she co-produces a LIVE late night talk show in Williamsburg called The Night Cap, and she is the drunk in The Drunk ‘n’  Dirty Duo who can be seen monthlyat the Palace of Wonders in Washington, DC.

Anita Cookie is the most intoxicated - oops - I mean intoxicating pastie-donner this side of the Rio Grande.  Sun-baked off the shores of the pacific, she has taken The Big Apple by storm and her love of tequila, being the product of those San Diego origins, is nothing compared to her insatiable hunger for cookies.

She is a character with the curves of Marilyn Monroe, the helium pipes of Betty Boop and the wit of Mae West. The Cookie drinks like Dean Martin, is usually involved in antics reminiscent of Lucille Ball, and in most cases her glitzy costumes seem to some how inevitably find there way on to the floor.

Anita’s bubbly voice and sultry dance moves have graced the stages of such fine New York and Brooklyn establishments as the Cutting Room, South Paw, Rafifi, Galapagos, BB King’s, Don Hill’s, Mo Pitkins and The Derby (LA).

When Anita’s not mesmerizing the masses she’s whipping up her Saucy Sweets!  She makes cookies, hot sauce, decorative items and much, much more

Scott Rayow is a member of both SAG and AFTRA. He supports the merging of the two, & hopes they'll call the new organization FARTSAGA.

Scott Rayow has enjoyed performing since age eleven. Unfortunately, he's been performing since age four. His first pair of bronzed tap shoes are proudly displayed on his mantletop; he recalls "the bronze made it hard to dance but the tapping was real loud." Scott quickly put dance behind him to explore the varied worlds of pre-, grade-, and high-school theatre (often in that order) and subsequently spent his college years in the Tufts University Beelzebubs, where he wrote and performed comedy. As they were an a cappella music group, this caused occasional friction (lawsuit pending).

Leaving the comfort of an educational environment, Scott finally discovered the one true reward of performing: getting paid. He went on to forge a commercial acting career, providing voice work for ads, promos, documentaries, and animation projects (many of which aren't technically porn) and thoroughly enjoys selling excellent products and/or services to intelligent consumers... according to his agents at DBA.

When not shilling for the man, Scott still writes and performs comedy here and there.* In his spare time, he patiently awaits the arrival of his growth-spurt, and is working on the biochemical equations to actually produce a silk purse from a sow's ear.

* Here and there currently includes but is not limited to: Anita's Underground @ Under St. Marks on the 2nd Thursday of every month, PIng Pong @ Royale Bar on the first Monday of every month, and Pinchbottom @ C:U pretty damn often. His disembodied voice can be heard at This Is Burlesque starring Murray Hill @ Corio  and at select Angie Pontani performances worldwide.

"The Kindergateners", Ariel Levine on guitar and Zach Abramson on bass, are two of the four members that make up NYC rock band KiNDERGARTEN.  KiNDERGARTEN is a band with a sound that New York has been missing since the late 70's!! K-GARTO uses the latest in State of the Art songwriting technology, combining obscure twists and turns with places of comfort and familiarity. All the while, maintaining their nostalgic, gritty funk/punk roots, pooling their influences from the likes of Talking Heads, Television, Elvis Costello, AC/DC, David Bowie, Lou Reed, The Cars, Prince, etc. Their music will make you think, bop your head, or just maybe, dance the night away.  KiNDEGARTEN also hosts Happy Happy Tuesdays, a new monthly music series in the Lower East Side. Held at one of NYC's greatest new music venues, FONTANA's, H.H.T.'s combines NYC's greatest music with its best Variety Performers. A Rock and Roll Circus, if you will.
Anita Cookie will be joined every month by and a different ‘Drinking Buddy”, a recognizable New York performer/artist/personality, who will perform a secret special talent.  You’ll have to come each month to see who it could be and what they can do!

July 10th
Kenny Law
Mr. Kenny Law comes to us from Sunset Park, Brooklyn, where he resides happily with his wife and popular burlesque performer Peekaboo Pointe. A tattoo artist, painter, rapper, writer, and eventual editor of New York City's oldest and now-defunct adult publication SCREW Magazine, Mr. Law is familiar with the bitter taste of failure. Our guest tonight has wasted at least 15 years of his life in a downward spiral of self-doubt and perpetual identity crisis. However, proclaiming his inefficacies a superpower, Mr. Kenny Law has turned his many disabilities into an asset. Today, Mister Law walks dogs for a living. It may be his life's calling. Be it dog walking, tattooing, painting or fucking, he is here tonight to prove that failure is fertile grounds for success.

Aug. 14th
Nasty Canasta
Burlesque baby Nasty Canasta wasn't born nasty, she's just drawn that way. The product of a brief tryst following a late-night card game between Sid Vicious and Carol Burnett, Nasty is old-school glamour at its most surreal. Her burlesque performances celebrate the vagaries of pop culture and the wicked sense of humor that makes it all bearable. Nasty can be found bumping & grinding, turning (magic) tricks, and fending off the advances of lascivious puppets at various unsavory locations throughout Brooklyn and NYC.

Sept. 11th
Gigi La Femme

Who's the kitten that puts the 'ooh' in Ooh La La and will have you purring for more?  None other than Miss Gigi La Femme, of course.  There's no slumber party, sock hop or shagadelic soiree that she can't handle. You can catch GiGI, with her sultry moves and scandalous sex appeal, every second Friday of every month starring in Wasabassco's Burlesque in the Living Room!
