THE MANAGEMENT (www.managementcompany.org) was formed in 2004 as part of New York’s UnConvention Festival. Its first production was the Brecht-inspired This Jungle of Cities penned by founding member Berrian Eno-Van Fleet. The Management is known for stark, stylized, critical exposés on American culture. In 2005 the company enjoyed an 8-month residency at Victory Hall in Jersey City where it produced the East Coast premiere of Naomi Izuka’s Aloha Say the Pretty Girls and Thornton Wilder’s The Long Christmas Dinner. The Mgmt took part in the inaugural Capital Fringe Festival in Washington D.C. in ’06 with the grotesquely humorous, existential play Self-Obsession in Blue (and again in ’08 with The Chalk Boy) and is currently showcasing new playwrighting through their 2008 Salon Series in NYC.

Joshua Conkel is a playwright, director, and Navy brat who spent his childhood traveling the United States with his family. His plays include The Chalk Boy and I Wanna Destroy You, among others, and his work has been seen in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Washington D.C. and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His short play about the rapture, Up With (Some) People, was recently a finalist at the 34th Annual Samuel French Festival at Playwrights Horizons. Additionally, his short play about abstinence and marriage, entitled Save Yourself for You, will be presented as part of next month's EstroGenius festival at Manhattan Theatre Source. Joshua is the Artistic Direcor of The Management and a proud member of Youngblood, Ensemble Studio Theatre's emerging playwrights' group. Isaac Butler is a director and writer based in Brooklyn. Previous directing credits at Horse Trade theaters include The Rapid Response Team, the world premieres of Dan Trujillo's The Honest-to-God True Story of the Atheist (which went on to the Capitol Fringe Festival in Washington, D.C.) and Clay McLeod Chapman's volume of smoke (which he also directed at The Firehouse Theatre Project, The 14th Street Y Theatre and Virginia Commonwealth University as a guest artist). Other credits include Trujillo's Talk of the Walk-Up and Chapman's redbird as well as George Hunka's In Private, In Public, Sustaining and All The Ships At Sea. He also directed the first production of a contemporary Danish play in English in the United States with First You're Born by Line Knutzon at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Isaac is a two time member of the Lincoln Center Director's Lab, a graduate of Vassar College, a lover of dogs and the writer behind Parabasis (http://parabasis.typepad.com) which has been featured in the New York Times, Time Out New York and the Wall Street Journal. |

Jennifer Harder (Linda) first started acting with the Flint Youth Theatre in Michigan. She received a BFA with honors from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Companies she’s worked with include: chashama, 29th St. Rep, Target Margin, Les Freres Corbusier, EST Youngblood, The Beggars Group, and the Dublin Fringe Festival. She was most recently seen in WTE Theatre's production of SportSexDeathPorn in the Montréal Fringe Festival. Her hobbies include biking, swimming, tennis, and vegan baking; she is also a trumpet player and has recorded two albums; one with the folk-rock group “Faux Star”, and one with her current indie-rock band “Supermajor”. www.jenniferharder.com |

KATE HUISENTRUIT (Breanna Stark) is also a producer, director, and writer. Recently finishing the first season as Associate Producer on the Rachael Ray show, Kate has been working in TV since moving to NYC in 2002. Originally from Seattle, her directing credits include: Cloud Nine by Caryl Churchill, Daddy’s Dyin Who’s Got the Will by Del Shores, and Paparazzi: Don’t Let the Flashbulbs Blind You by R.C. Jennings. She assistant directed Aloha Say the Pretty Girls for The Management in 2005 and has played Joan La Pucelle in Henry VI Part 1, Lucy in Suessology and Edward/Victoria in Cloud Nine. She holds a B.F.A in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts and her most recent performance was that of “Otto Mattic” in the Like a Boi drag king competition in Brooklyn, NY. |
