MARK CORNELL (Playwright) has had more than 50 of his plays produced in theatres around the world. Tell Me You Love Me, the first part of Sprucehaven B, was produced with Rising Sun Performance Company in 2012. He has an MFA in playwriting from UCLA. He lives in Chapel Hill, NC.

 

 

 

 

 

AKIA (Director/Producer) is an active member of the flourishing Off-Off/Indie & Off Broadway theatre communities having produced, directed, and performed with numerous NYC companies for over 15 years.   She is the Company Manager for the international sensation, Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theater.   She has received critical praise for her direction of RSP long running hits such as “Hellcab”, “Goodnight Lovin’ Trail” and “The Last Supper”, "Crapshoot" and "Bug". She served as an advisory Board Member for The Paul Butterfield Fund & Society, and is the Company Manager for The New York Innovative Theatre Awards & Foundation, where she serves on their honorary awards committee as Sub-Committee Chairman and as an At-Large Judge. Past notable credits include working on staff at Horse Trade Theatre Group, serving as General Manager for FRIGID New York’s inaugural year, and returning is following years as House Manager, Box Office, Artist Services &  Volunteer Coordinator; she also served as Production Coordinator for nationally acclaimed Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, overseeing the playwrights unit and INSIGHT 13 production series. She is a recipient of the New York Innovative Theatre Awards “Founders Award” for her contributions to the organization and Off Off Broadway Community and Two Time recipient of the Festival Congeniality Award from Planet Connections Theatre Festival.

ELIZABETH BURKE (Adult Isabel) a graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and has performed in TV, film and theatre. The classics are a favorite genre of hers, and she has been fortunate to have performed as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible. RICHIE ABANES * (John) Richie was last seen as Louie in "Parking Lot 63" at New York's Thespis Festival (2015) and in the staged reading of "Guilin" (NY Musical Theater Festival, 2014). He has also appeared on Broadway in "Dreamgirls," Off-Broadway in "Pacific Overtures" and "The Coronation of Poppea," and toured in the International/National companies of "A Chorus Line. Regional theater credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), Hair, and Song of Solomon. In film/TV, Richie has starred in two ABC After School Specials, the PBS Special "In Search of the Constitution," and various commercials. He has also been seen in "The Good Wife," "Gossip Girl," and the Hulu series, "Deadbeat." He is currently writing a new musical, "Carly," to be staged in 2016.

 

 

SAMANTHA TURRET (Young Isabel) recently filmed a pilot franchise campaign with Nickelodeon. She was also seen on episodes of MTV Decoded as well as at the Cannes Film Festival in the short film The Tablecloth and at the Manhattan Film Festival in the short Trolloween, as well as various other film festivals this past year. She just did her first big girl voiceover for an amazing documentary still in the works, My Rock N Roll Fantasy. The Creatives:


MAGGIE KISSINGER (Dramaturg/Associate Director) is thrilled to be working on Sprucehaven B with Rising Sun Performance Co. She's worked with RSP for three years, starting out as a Literary Intern and moving up to Literary Associate. She's currently working with The Shakespeare Society in their Education department as well as performing with Walk Up Arts in their upcoming Winter Circus in March. She has previously served as Social Media Manager for the New York Innovative Theatre Co and worked on "Under Milk Wood" as the dramaturg with The Glass Bandits. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, she received a B.A. in Drama from Hofstra University, where she worked on multiple productions as dramaturg and assistant director.

 

 

 

LAUREN FISCHETTI (Assistant Producer) is a native New Yorker, actor, and playwright, who has added "producer" to her list of career paths. Lauren recently co-produced a play entitled, "Fire On Flaming Roads" at the Arthur Seelen Theatre through Untitled Theatre Collective, of which she is a founding member. As an actor, Lauren has worked with Ten Thirty One Productions, Between Us Productions, and the New York Film Academy among others. LAURA KROUCH * (Stage Manager) Laura is thrilled to be joining the Sprucehaven B team! Her gypsy boots have taken her to all but three of the states in the union on many an adventure. Highlights include: Les Miserables and Addams Family the Musical (Cortland Repertory Theatre), ImaginOcean (Gables Grove Productions Inc.) and Curious George and the Golden Meatball (TheaterWorks USA). MONICA BLAZE LEAVITT (Fight Director / Choreographer) an award winning actor combatant of the Society of American Fight Directors. Her credits include The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Broadway production of The Herbal Bed. She is the resident Fight Director for Transport Group and Point of You Productions. She assisted Colleen Kelly at the Folgers Library lecture “Violence in Shakespeare’s Plays”. Transport Group’s First Ladies’ Suite and Boys in the Band, The Lark’s Den of Thieves, Heritage Repertory Theatre’s Shop at Sly Corner and Man of La Mancha. Getting Even With Shakespeare NYC Fringe, The Salon’s production of Othello, The Hudson River Theatre Company’s Macbeth, several shows at Barnard University including What of the Night, Dissident Acts and Tartuffe and over 50 other plays and films created in New York City.

TOM KING (Sound Designer) Tom King is a young sound designer recently graduated from Ramapo College who is very excited to be working on his first full production with the Rising Sun Performance Company and FRIGID New York. He has been the sound designer for several of their theater mashups in the past and has been the sound designer for the Innovative Theater awards for the past two years.

 

JAK PRINCE (Lighting Designer) Jak made his stage debut at age six playing the elephant king in the first grade play.  Since then he has been involved with theater either as an actor, director, designer and educator.  Prior credits include “Donkey” (Rising Sun Performance Co. HADLEY TODORAN (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Technical Collaborator with the New York Neo-Futurists, designing and running lights and sound for the weekly show Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind and most recently running sound for NYNF’s 2015 edition of Best Of Too Much Light. This past year, they were the Lighting and Sound Designer for The Motherf**ker with the Hat (CAST at NYU), the Assistant Stage Manager for Exposure (Next in Line Productions), and the Production Assistant for Dylan Marron’s Drama Desk Award nominated The Human Symphony (New York Neo-Futurists).

 

JOHN PATRICK BRAY (Literary Manager) (PhD, MFA) has written under grants from The National Endowment for the Arts and the Acadiana Center for the Arts, and has earned commissions from various theatre troupes in New York City (Off-Off Broadway), South Louisiana, and most recently, Lyric Arts Theatre in Anoka, MN. He has publications with Applause, Smith and Kraus, Next Stage Press, Original Works Publishing, JACPublishing, and Indie Theatre Now. John is co- literary manager and a resident writer for Rising Sun Performance Co. in NYC and is Vice Chair of the Professional Division of the Georgia Theatre Conference.
