The Adventures of Lover-Tron
Fall 2002

The Bad Astronauts are a saucy East Village sketch comedy trio. Hannah Cabell, Simone Perrin and Greg Pierce met through an improv group at Oberlin College, then headed east and performed THE BAD ASTRONAUT SHOW at The Duplex in Fall ’00, followed by CUT ME SOME SLACKS at The Present Company and PHALLAXY QUEST and THE ADVENTURES OF LOVER-TRON at The Red Room. They became Resident Artists at Horse Trade Theater Group after their appearance in the 2002 HA! Comedy FEST. This past January, they performed THE BADDEST OF THE BAD ASTRONAUTS in The HA! Comedy FEST.

The Bad Astronauts are:
Hannah Cabell, Simone Perrin and Gregory Pierce.

Hannah Cabell is a native New Hampshirite who has been struggling for three years to drop her slackjawed accent and wool longjohns and blend into the Slavic hipness that is Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This is her sixth year collaborating with Greg and Simone in a variety of partnerships; sketch comedy seemed a safe haven after the goat herding fiasco of '99. A current student at the William Esper Studio, she dutifully practices her Meisner technique while living the rock life with fellow members of the band Lungs of a Giant. Hannah recently finished a run as Patty in the much praised PATTY RED PANTS at The Red Room.

Gregory Pierce (you can say Greg) has been in The Bad Astronauts since day one. He's from Shelburne, Vermont, which is where the magic is. Greg did improv with Oberlin College's Primitive Streak and then moved to NYC where he's been doing sketch shows, plays, and what have you. No, I'm serious, what have you? He works with LA's Hamsterhead Inc., producing plays and films. His own play, PLAYING THE FELDMANS, is in development at the Rattlestick Theater. His novel, "Waltz Games," should be out one of these days. Last summer Greg learned how to cook saag.

Simone Perrin dropped out of NASA space school to be a part of The Bad Astronauts. Since their arrival in NYC, about a year and a half ago, Simone has acquired some cowgirl boots, a poly-wolly tuxedo and a white pearly accordion named Pixie. In her free time, she sings with Pixie, rides the streets on her old time bicycle, and drinks beers. She is proud to be a Bad Astronaut and will forever hold its flag high in space.
