RADIO STAR

Radio Star is a 1940's radio detective spoof written and performed by Tanya O'Debra.  In The Case of the Long Distance Lover, Nick McKittrick; Private Dick, is hired by femme fatale Fanny LaRue to find her husband’s killer.  The plot is a standard mystery, but Radio Star’s current sense of humor sets it apart from the pack.  With original music by Andrew Mauriello and live Foley sound effects, Radio Star delivers the full old time radio experience.  It's just like the golden age of radio, only dirtier.

Radio Star has been produced several times in New York.  It won Best of the San Francisco Fringe Festival.  Radio Star was nominated for Best English Language Production and Just For Laugh's Best Comedy at the Montreal Fringe Festival. It was also nominated for three New York Innovative Theatre Awards: Outstanding Full Length Script, Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role, and Outstanding Original Music.  The script is published by Original Works.

“An absurd cross between John Waters and Raymond Chandler… Radio Star is a raunchy blast.” - Flavorpill, NYC

"Mesmerizing... a true gem and a must-see!" - ***** The Charlebois Post, Montreal
